Chrono House
Chrono House, part of Brougham Street Cohousing in Eltham, is designed for ageing in place and intergenerational living. It balances shared and private spaces using drought- and flood-tolerant native plants to foster interaction. Inspired by Plussenburgh Apartment, its adaptable layout evolves from one bedroom [0-10 years] to two [10-20 years] and three bedrooms [20+ years]. The design emphasises sustainability with a material palette of warm timber, green tones honouring Eltham’s landscape, and terracotta as a homage to its mudbrick heritage.
The home is tailored for Ross and Pam, a retired couple who enjoy gardening, participating in community activities, and riding their motorbike for fun. Chrono House is shaped by time, designed not only for today but also for tomorrow.
